Responsibilities:
As a Health and Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and implementing safety measures for our client’s £100 million steel frame construction project. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures specific to the construction project.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site personnel to promote a strong safety culture throughout all project phases.
- Provide guidance on safety issues, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Keep abreast of industry developments and best practices, integrating them into the project’s safety program.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager in the construction industry, particularly in large-scale steel frame and manufacturing projects.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Main contracting experience within Data Centers and steel frame/manufacturing sectors is highly desirable.
- NEBOSH or equivalent qualification in health and safety.
