Responsibilities:

As a Health and Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and implementing safety measures for our client’s £100 million steel frame construction project. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures specific to the construction project.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site personnel to promote a strong safety culture throughout all project phases.
  • Provide guidance on safety issues, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and best practices, integrating them into the project’s safety program.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager in the construction industry, particularly in large-scale steel frame and manufacturing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Main contracting experience within Data Centers and steel frame/manufacturing sectors is highly desirable.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent qualification in health and safety.
